Help! I can't decide.

The Kinsey Institute is having a Juried art show ( very similar to SEAF in scope). I'm going to  put two pieces from this series in the show ( maybe...). but I cant decide which two. Thoughts?

BUSY BUSY BUSY BUSY!!!

BUSY BUSY BUSY!   So much stuff in the works!  Its been a busy  couple of month. Here's an update of whats going on:

Just posted new items on the  Esty Shop. they can be found here

I'm please to announce ( ahead of the official announcement :) which should be latter this week) that I will have a number of items showing and selling at the Ghost Gallery.  I'm really excited about this one. Great gallery and great people to work with.  I've wanted to have some work there for a while so I feel very lucky and honored   Once the they are hung and ready Ill post the link. They will also be available for online purchase through the Ghost Gallery shopping Site.

This week also brought another gallery show  ( actually two) and  inclusion in  another book project. this time in the UK. details are still being hammer out but this one is a biggie.   Several galleries around the country  All I can say is that it has something to do with this gentleman and his knack for bring great mail art together. The second UK show will be at planet DADA and will be purely digital. this link will work when its up and running.

I will be having a number of pieces in the upcoming Seattle edition of The Pancakes & Booze art show. This is going to be just awesome. The Facebook event can be found here . here's some  video  and more Video of the LA version.

My contribution to the sketchbook project will be hitting a city near you this summer.

I contributed a piece to book project that will be released this spring that I can final talk about. FAT AXL. that's right. a coffee table book of  images of  a fat Axl Rose. It was a pleasure to be part of that project and when the firm date come out Ill post the buy links. from what I've seen this thing is really going to be amazing.

And last but not least I will be doing my own self published book project. This is something I've been slowly building on for the last 5 or so month.  Ill be doing the wrangling and some pieces myself. But 99% of the material will be from others.  you know misery loves company so I will be opening submissions in the next couple of weeks and the website/ crowd funding site will go live in early February.  It will be a collection of erotic art and writing.  Edgy, sexy  dirty and wrong in all the best ways.  I've got some crazy talented people lined up to participate already.  I'm really excited about it.  Hopeful it all goes well have it out by summer.

Nafsa live painting

I got invited a few weeks ago to do a live painting to be auctioned off at the NAFSA conference that was held at the wonderful Hotel Murano in Tacoma ( which I got to stay at over night-highly recommend it if your looking to stay in Tacoma anytime soon).  Well, the whole thing went down this Friday. I've done three of these now so I pretty much knew how this was going to go.  I had a blast! Knocked the painting out in about an hour or so. I meet some really awesome people and just generally had a good time and hammed it up pretty good. There was some video taken which ill post as soon as I get a copy. I also took a few pics the night of as well as the process of preparing the piece.
The bare wood cradle. I general don't buy backing boards or painting services, but i made a exception in this case.
Since my work generally has nothing to do contextually with the organization I was generating the piece for I decide to work their logo into the painting. I got online and printed out dozens of the NAFSA logo. using wheat paste I attached them to the wood. I then laid a few layers of Titanium White braking up the field.
Then I laid down the bare bones of the image in graphite
Here we are just getting ready to start in the main ball room of the hotel
And a little over an hour latter. I pulled a Basquiat and painted in a suit and managed not to get anything on myself.
The thing went for a c-note. I personal think the 1000 kisses Should have won
